Will someone trade me my CloseUp 600 for an SX-70?

Postby nwhite185 » Thu 27 February 2014 / 02:13 am

Hi all,
This is my first post, so don't hate me if this is a stupid question.I am a 6th grade student at Creekside Middle School in Castro Valley, California. I just wanted to know if someone would trade me my CloseUp 600 for an SX-70. The reason I want to do this is because I need portability. I am going on a school trip for a while, and have to pack light. If you could do this, it would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks,
Nick White

You're probably not gonna have much luck with that -- the quality and value of the two cameras aren't even close, regardless of how much Impossible and others inflate the prices of their "refurbished" models. If you look around Craigslist you might find one for a deal (I've owned seven of them and never paid more than $40 for any of them) and then you can sell the 600 to get some of your money back, or ask friends if their parents/family/whatever have one hidden somewhere.

Sorry, I got rid of my last dust magnet a few months ago, a gremlin-infested Sonar.

Another place I would try are antique stores and flea markets; though you may end up paying more at the former. Until shooting the format became "trendy" in recent years you used to be able to find them for pretty cheap... not so much, now.
